Paulinho double completes Tai Po comeback against nine-man Eastern
Photo: HKFA Tai Po came from behind to beat Eastern 4–1, with substitute Paulinho Simionato scoring twice against visitors who finished the match with nine men.
The result gave Tai Po their first league points after an opening defeat by North District. Eastern suffered a second successive loss, having also surrendered a lead against Supreme Shatin on the opening night.
Eastern lost Leung Kwun Chung to a red card after only seven minutes, but still took the lead through Yu Okubo three minutes later. Wallisson Bahia equalised in the 31st minute to leave the sides level at the break.
Tai Po made the extra player count on the scoresheet in the final quarter. Gabriel Cividini put them ahead after 70 minutes and Paulinho, introduced in the 53rd minute, added a third just three minutes later.
Carlos Alonso’s dismissal in the 84th minute reduced Eastern to nine men. Paulinho struck again in stoppage time to complete the scoring at Tai Po Sports Ground.
