Photo: HKFA Sohgo Ichikawa scored both goals as Lee Man beat Eastern District 2–1 at Mong Kok Stadium to maintain their perfect start to the league season.
Ichikawa put Lee Man ahead after 14 minutes, giving them a lead they carried into half-time. He struck again in the 61st minute to open a two-goal gap.
Luizinho pulled one back for Eastern District after 74 minutes, leaving the visitors time to seek an equaliser. Lee Man conceded no further goals and held on for a fourth victory from four league matches.
It was the first time Lee Man had conceded in the competition this season, following three successive 3–0 wins over Kowloon City, Supreme Shatin and HKFC. Their winning sequence nevertheless continued, taking their points total to 12.
Eastern District suffered a second successive defeat after losing 4–1 to Kitchee, despite reducing the deficit in the closing stages.
