Camargo earns Kitchee a point after early own goal in Kuching
Photo: Kitchee Everton Camargo’s equaliser helped Kitchee recover from an early own goal to draw 1–1 at Kuching City and remain unbeaten in AFC Champions League Two Group H.
Goalkeeper Pong Cheuk Hei’s error gave the Malaysian side the lead after only two minutes. Kitchee’s response arrived in the 14th minute, when Camargo finished after a pass from Víctor Camarasa.
Kitchee came close to taking the lead before half-time when Adrián Revilla headed against the post. Camarasa sent the follow-up over, and neither side found a winner after the break.
It was Kitchee’s second draw after their goalless opener against Gangwon FC. Two points left them second in the group, four behind Phnom Penh Crown, who won 2–1 in Korea to maintain their perfect start.
Kuching collected their first point of the campaign. Kitchee, meanwhile, had avoided defeat on their first away trip but were still waiting for a victory ahead of their next meeting with the group leaders.
