Bleda double earns HKFC first league win at Tai Po
Photo: HKFA Manuel Bleda scored twice, including a late penalty, as HKFC beat Tai Po 2–1 to claim their first league victory of the season.
HKFC had started their league campaign with defeats against Southern and Lee Man. Bleda’s two goals brought that losing run to an end and secured their first three points.
Bleda gave the visitors a 33rd-minute lead at Tai Po Sports Ground. Tai Po reached the interval a goal behind, but Chang Hei Yin equalised in the 67th minute to restore parity.
The decisive goal came with eight minutes of normal time remaining. Bleda converted from the penalty spot to put HKFC ahead for the second time, and Tai Po were unable to respond again.
Tai Po had scored seven goals in consecutive home wins over Eastern and Rangers, but Bleda’s late penalty brought that winning sequence to an end.
